ACNE-PRONE SKIN REGIMEN

When treating acne-prone skin most people believe the more products the better, however, it's quite the opposite. The more simple your routine is, the more effective it will be. The whole point of a product regimen is to balance the skin. As practitioners, our goal is to find the perfect product recipe for each person. Below is a classic and effective regimen for oily, acne prone skin. 


AM: 


SCRUB- use a gentle, yet effective morning cleanser to slough off the dead skin from the night (we love the anti-bacterial scrub by ayur-medic)


MOISTURIZER- use a moisturizer with salicylic acid in it. This will dissolve skin debris that can clog the pores. (hint hint clarifying cream by ayur-medic)


SUNSCREEN- (if needed) use a sunscreen formulated for sensitive & acne prone skin (Elta UV clear is our favorite!)


PM:


CLEANSER- use a soapy, bubbly cleanser to remove the dirt, oil, sunscreen, and makeup from the day (ex. Mixed greens cleanser by Naturium)


AHA/BHA SOLUTION- use this 1-2x a week (VH METHOD wipes are our holy grail!)


RETINOL- use 3-5x a week. Start on a low dose, then work your way up


MOISTURIZER- use the same one as your AM



*SUBSTITUTE- if you have more dry skin use a light, oil-free moisturizer in the morning then a more active one at night
